We are a community of indigenous leaders and allies united to save and protect the Sagrada Biorregion Maya
Sacred Maya Bioregion
OUR PROJECTS
From ecotourism to regenerative cacao farming to protecting jaguars and howler monkeys, our elders and guardians are dedicated to preserving Mayan tradition and lands.
Preserving the mangroves
Mangroves protect our coastlines, are teeming with biodiversity from fish to flamingoes, and sequester 4x more carbon than tropical forests.
Regenerative Farming
Mayans are pioneers in regenerative and organic farming. Come visit our farms in the Yucatan, Tabasco and in Chiapas where we grow healing and medicinal plants from cacao to moringa.
Ecotourism
From snorkeling with whale sharks to kayaking among the mangroves, to hiking to the habitats of howler monkeys our Mayan tour guides will share with you their beautiful lands and stories.
"The Maya Forest spanning Mexico, Belize and Guatemala is a biodiversity hotspot with a rich tapestry of flora and fauna, including numerous endangered species. This vast rainforest is crucial for maintaining regional and global biodiversity, and its preservation is vital for mitigating climate change."
